On July 17, 2010, my world shifted slightly on its axis. I discovered a lump in my breast. This Blog records what happened next. I chose, rather than to endure treatment in silence, to share the experience with those I know. Why?
First, because I came to realize how little I knew about breast cancer, even though I, too, have known people who have experienced it. This is a way for me to help educate those around me who care to know more.
Second, because it's a topic that needs to be discussed. Everyone is different. Breast cancer is not the same for every victim. We need to share our stories.
Finally, because burdens become lighter when they're shared. This is not a completely selfish motive. I've come to learn that supporters actually want to share the load and doing so adds to their life as well.
A little too busy to post. Working on a wedding for tomorrow in Chaska. Fun, though. I'm so thankful I have the energy for this, my last wedding until after I finish treatment.
